Baz Bahadur Palace

This palace is inspired by the Rajput and Mughal architecture style whose name is derived from the ruler Baz Bahadur who had a great interest in music and art. Baz Bahadur was the last independent ruler. This hilltop monument of Mandhu offers breathtaking views from the outer court which is the main part of the palace. Beautiful fountain in the middle of the court will remind you of the amazing architecture and designs of that time. To the north of the palace, you will see an octagonal pavilion with arched doors which overlook the garden where you will still feel the marks of history. The broad steps will take you to the terraces from where you get a stunning view of the Roopmati pavilion on the foreground and countryside view.

Rani Roopmati Pavilion

Nilkanth Mahadev Temple

The temple is built by Shah bagh khan on the order of Mughal emperor akbar for his hindu wife follows Hinduism the temple is built beautiful architecture elegant design carve of large stones surrounded by mountain ranges neelkanth valley delicate to lord shiva the temple faces the holy pond and attracts pilgrimage all over the world

Lohani Caves

These rock cut caves are 11-12 century old which are the oldest monolith shrines in the city of Mandav. There are 4-5 caves here which are like shell shaped rooms and the nearby waterfall makes these caves more beautiful.

These sculptures and statues of Lord Shiva, Parvati, Vishnu and Lakshmi were found during excavation by the archaeological department which are kept in the Chhappan Mahal museum. Many temple ruins were also discovered from here. This unique cave exploration and stunning views of the waterfall are one of the must have experiences in Mandav.

Rupayan Museum

Spread over 10 acres of land, this museum is the best place for historical buffs to explore. For those tourists who are interested in local culture and history, they can see the tools and crafts of the locals in the museum of Mandu.

Sagar Talao Mandu

Sagar talao is the largest lake of mandu which is surrounded by monuments, famous palace, dai ka mahal, caravan sarai, small sister of dai and owner’s house which is in southern, northern and eastern bank

Monsoon season is the best time to visit here and most loved activity is boating, along with stunning views in the surreal lake which has been started by the government

Reva Kund

Reva kund is an artificial lake built by Baz bahadur to ensure the water supply of the roopmati pavilion. Reva kund is also one the monuments depicting the love story of baz bahadur and roopmati. This kund has spiritual significance roopmati used to worship narmada river and the kund was made from the holy water of river Narmada where roopmati came to worship unique style of pillars and arches look beautiful and explorer and pilgrimage can rest and relax this kund is holy site visited and worshiped by people performing narmada circumambulation or parikrama and the water is clear and pure.

Bagh Caves

These are unique caves of rock cut nind monument which is situated in Dhar district of MP. This place is known for Indian rock cut architecture and is famous for mural paintings of ancient India. It is believed that these caves are Buddhist monasteries which depict Buddhist teaching in paintings. The ceiling is covered with mud plaster. This place is one of the most unique places to explore in Mandu.

Conclusion 

Exploring the interestings caves, palaces, lakes and kund and the interesting stories behind them takes me to the time back and then structure and architecture designs use during that time is worth exploring
